What is the role of finance services?
The finance unit offer services relating to financial reporting, financial administration and processing of payments for office, programme activities and UN agencies in the following areas;-Payment of salaries and related staff costs, Programme delivery payments, Payments related to travel and Cost recovery.

Where is its core support directed?
The Finance Unit s core function is to support the Programme Section in the country office for the delivery of the various disbursements as per the mandate of the Programme implementation modalities. In addition the unit disburses funds on behalf of the various UN Agencies whose functions are administered by UNDP cash office. Throughout the year 2007 the Unit strived to achieve its target of quality delivery despite the hindrances faced by the unit in the form of the newly implemented operational system, Atlas.

Payments processed under finance unit include

Salaries are processed for fixed staff members ,Salaries forService and Special service contract holders, Security Service payments, Programme delivery payments, Medical Service payments. Similarly, the finace office processes travel payments for UNDP and various UN Agencies Vendor payments for various categories of procurements International salaries and Cost Recovery services to the various UN Agencies for the services offered.
