Welcome to Crisis Prevention and Recovery page

The crisis prevention and recovery component aims at further reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS and improving the quality of life of those affected and infected, in line with Millennium Development goals while also strengthening the capacity to design, implement, monitor and evaluate HIV/AIDS programmes. Furthermore, the component aims to reduce the incidence of natural and man-made disasters and insecurity on the lives of the poor by enhancing multi-sectoral responses to HIV/AIDS, natural disasters mitigation capacity, and conflict resolution and peace building. The following are the main outcomes of UNDP·s intervention:

A. Sustained political and administrative leadership in the fight against HIV/AIDS at the national and constituency levels;
B. Capacity to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS through support for infected and affected persons;
C. Disaster management and reduction of small arms proliferation.
