The purpose of the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) is to provide comprehensive guidelines in budgeting, project funding, monitoring and evaluation of all the projects for five years. It outlines the process through which efforts at national and devolved levels of government and other relevant public institutions are coordinated at the local level to bring economic, social, environmental, legal and spatial aspects of development together, to meet the needs and targets set for the benefit of local communities. The projects and programs in the CIDP were identified through various consultative forums at the county level such as public participation forums. It is the first CIDP in the country to have incorporated the Sustainable Development Goals into its development plans
